Michael “Mike” Mathias Busch, 75 of Jordan, passed away on August 17, 2023.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, August 31, 2023 with a time of gathering beginning at 9:30AM, all at St. John the Baptist Church, 313 2nd St E, Jordan. Father Neil Bakker will preside. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Jordan. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be distributed by the family in Mike’s name.

Mike was born in Shakopee, MN on July 16, 1948 to parents, Mathias and Eleanor Busch, the youngest son of 4. Mike spent his childhood living in Jordan, MN, with his family. In his high school years, he played football, baseball, and wrestled. He excelled at football where he was an All-Conference center. Not only did Mike play sports, but he also acted in the school theater program where he likely found his love for live theater. Mike also spent his time working in the family ice cream shop, Gold Spot Dairy.

Shortly after he graduated from high school, he was drafted into the military where he joined the Army as a military police officer and served honorably in the Vietnam War. Once Mike had finished up his stint in the military, he came back home to complete his education. He first received his associate degree from Normandale Community College, and shortly after, his bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University in law enforcement. In 1976, Mike started working for the Scott County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy. One of his favorite duties of this job was teaching the D.A.R.E. curriculum to students in local schools. During this time, he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Radermacher, who blessed him with 3 wonderful children, Matt, Margaret, and Molly. Sometime after having his first 3 children, he was married to Prudence McWaters, and they were blessed with his youngest son, Aaron. Towards the end of his law enforcement career, he received the title Chief Deputy and later retired in 2003.

Although Mike had retired from the county, it didn’t stop him from working and doing what he loved. He became a consultant in the construction of the new jail building. After that project he drove school bus routes for Eastern Carver County for many years too. His last job was working as a security guard at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater where he got to enjoy all the live shows that were playing. No matter where Mike was, he could always make a friend. He was well loved by his community, and he loved them too.

Of course, during this time, he still made sure to make time for his beloved family. Every year they would all travel up to Duluth for a greatly needed summer vacation. He also loved to vacation in Florida where the weather was always warm. Mike could often be found taking walks outside, admiring the wildlife or just sitting on the patio soaking up the weather. He enjoyed being in the presence of his kids and seven grandchildren during holidays and sporting events.

Mike’s proud and hardworking nature will be forever missed by his children, Matt (Stacy) Busch, Maggie (Neil) Brokl, Molly (Matt) Hergott, Aaron (Robyn) Busch; grandchildren, Ella, Brady, Kayla, Jordan, Chase, Sawyer, and Collins; brothers, Robert and William (Marie) Busch; and many other loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mathias and Eleanor Busch; and brother, Buddy Busch.

Thomas Vincent Boncher, age 74, of Jordan died unexpectedly on August 8, 2023, at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.

Thom was born on December 9, 1948 to Michael and Vivien (Navarre) in Two Rivers, WI. He attended Catholic school through eighth grade and graduated from Washington High School in 1967. He went on to graduate from Layton School of Arts with a BFA in graphic design in 1971.

It was on a blind date in the fall of 1977 that he met his future wife, Sandra Nordberg. They were married on July 29, 1978. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Thomas and Paul and eventually two grandchildren, Evan and Alannah.

Thom’s professional career included employment at Graco, Microprecision, Wagner Spray Tech, Century Manufacturing, Barnes & Noble and Continental Machines.

He loved family, especially family trips, car shows, football (the Green Bay Packers in particular) legion baseball games, town ball, going to the cabin and visiting friends at Maynards. You could also catch him at many JHS volleyball and basketball games.

As a Jordan City Council member for four years, he spent an inordinate amount of time reading the informational packets. He gave 110% to his constituents during his tenure in public office.

For many years he wrote a bi-weekly commentary for the Jordan Independent. He also published three short story books and recently informed his family that he had another book “in the hopper”. He loved the Railcam in Fort Madison, Iowa and enjoyed chatting with his fellow “train lovers”. He could tell the funniest stories from his childhood, like the time Tim got his head stuck in the steering wheel of the family car. He had an amazing memory for detail, events, and people and could remember what he was wearing on a particular day at an event. He was one of Minnesota’s first recipients of a cochlear implant, and was also a cancer survivor.

Thom’s strong faith legacy included regular Mass attendance. It was important for him to set an example for his kids, grands, and future grands to come. He also espoused giving thanks in public, eating areas and restaurants.

As Thom loved the song “Happy Organ” the boys are devising a set up to play it at the luncheon. It was one of the first things he heard after the implant. He wanted to make everyone happy, not sad!

Thom is survived by his wife, Sandra; sons, Tom (Jill) and Paul; grandchildren, Evan and Alannah; brothers, Mike (Kathy Albers) and Tim (Kay) nephew, T.J.; nieces, Jessica and Nicole, and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Vivien and sister, Mary Ellen Easton.

There will be a Funeral Mass on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Jordan with a visitation two hours prior at the church. A Luncheon will follow the Mass in the church basement with a private family burial at a later date.

Delbert Michael Wolf, age 84 of Mankato, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Delbert at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, with time of gathering beginning at 10 AM, all at Saint John the Baptist Church, 313 2nd St E, Jordan. Father Neil Bakker will preside. Interment Calvary Cemetery.

Delbert is survived by his brother, Duane Wolf; niece, Darla (David) Cushman; nephews, Gary Wolf, Dale Wolf, and Troy Wolf; and many cousins, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Agnes (nee Riesgraf) Wolf.

Dorothy (Jindra) Pauly, of Jordan, passed away Friday, June 2 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague. A Time of Gathering will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 104 1st St W, Jordan, MN. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM with visitation time one hour prior at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 313 2nd St. E, Jordan, MN, with Fr. Neil Bakker presiding. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Jordan.

Dorothy was born June 12, 1931 to Joseph G. and Agnes Jindra in Montgomery, Minnesota. Growing up she learned to speak Czech (and correctly pronounce words with few vowels) and enjoyed the company of close family. She attended Most Holy Redeemer Catholic School and graduated from Montgomery High School in 1949.

On graduation from eighth grade her teacher prophesied a busy career as an airline stewardess, though by her senior year in high school Dorothy named “Biology” as her favorite subject and considered more down-to-earth vocations, including nursing. She enrolled in St. Cloud State Teachers College, obtaining a degree – and a recommendation from her student teaching supervisor stating that though quiet, “she had forcefulness and poise in her teaching.” In 1951 this “modest and reserved but extremely dependable” young lady attained her first position in Jordan, Minnesota, where she met and married Wilfred (“Willy”) Pauly, raised a family, continued her education (earning a B.S. in Education and doing graduate work at Mankato State College), and taught at Jordan Elementary School for over thirty-five years.

In 1960 she actively supported the organization of a “Spring Primary” program – precursor to present-day kindergarten – which she taught until 1964 when she accepted a post as a first-grade teacher. Recognized as district “Teacher of the Year” in 1973, she continued in this capacity until 1988. Many Jordan residents doubtless recall loafing in the “Willy Boat” with a favorite book or coming up to the special reading table as Mrs. Pauly helped unlock the mystery of the alphabet to reveal the magic of words.

An old Ghanan proverb says, “She who teaches, learns.” Always believing in multi-faceted experiential learning, in retirement this singularly dedicated educator’s “instruction” went on through occasional substitute teaching, constant reading, and continual canine companionship.

Dorothy is survived by her children; James (Jody) Pauly and Mary Jo (Lou Maravelas); grandchildren, Katie (Brett) Oyanagi and Sami (Thomas) von Bibra; great grandson, Benji Oyanagi; sister, Mary Ellen Jindra; and furry companion Beau. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred (“Willy”) Pauly. Her faithful pups Spike, Boobah-da, Cinnabar, Mishka, and Skipper also preceded her in death.

Lisa Rose (Kroyer) Gulden, age 54, of Carver, MN, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 11 am, with a gathering from 9:30-10:45 am, at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, 313 East Second Street, Jordan, MN. Father Neil Bakker will preside.

Lisa lived a very simple life. She was born on December 24, 1967, in Shakopee, MN to Ronald and Rosella Kroyer. Lisa and her brothers, Steve and Jay spent their early years living in the Prior Lake, MN area, before the family moved to Jordan, MN. Lisa went on to graduate from Jordan High School in 1986.

Most of Lisa’s career was spent in the agricultural industry. She was a dedicated administrative assistant for Con Agra, in Shakopee, MN for many years.

The best memories for Lisa were made with her husband, Bruce. Her brother Steve introduced her to him, and their love story began. On March 28, 2003, in Shakopee, they tied the knot. Lisa and Bruce enjoyed summers camping at Hay Creek Campground, in Red Wing, MN. She loved socializing with fellow campers and participating in the themed weekends. Lisa was most comfortable enjoying the day in her home surrounded by her beloved dogs, Buddy, Toby and Stuie. In the quietness of the day, she occupied countless hours exploring recipes and trying a few out.

Lisa will be remembered by those who loved her the most, husband, Bruce; stepson, Michael Gulden: mother, Rosella Beuch; father, Ronald (Phyllis) Kroyer; brothers, Steve (Theresa) Kroyer, Jay (Dawn) Kroyer; four legged companions, Toby and Stuie; other relatives and friends.

Lisa is preceded in death by her stepfather, Richard Beuch; grandparents, Raymond and Cleopha Kroyer, Frederick and Katherine Wickman and her beloved dog, Buddy.

Mary Jane LaPlant, age 75, of Jordan, MN, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 1, 2023.

Mary Jane was born on February 17, 1948 in Shakopee, MN to Neil & Irene (Hartman) Eischens. She was the 5th of 11 children and the first girl in the family. Growing up, Mary Jane attended Saint John’s Catholic School and eventually graduated from Jordan High School in 1966. She was a caretaker at an early age, always watching over her younger siblings. She loved chumming around with her best friend, Jeanne, while growing up, and was always staying active. She liked to play sports and was an excellent catcher in softball, even though there weren’t organized sports for girls at that time.

After her graduation, Mary Jane went on to further her education and become a beautician. Even though she didn’t officially graduate, she did become the neighborhood and family hairdresser for many years. She also did daycare for her kids and others in the family and in the Jordan community, and when her kids were in school, she became a special education bus driver for the Jordan school district from 1986 until her retirement in 2018.

Family was integral to Mary Jane throughout her life, and she began her own with her first son, Kyle, in 1971. A couple years later, she met Henry LaPlant on a blind date at the State Fair. Things went well, and Henry decided to surprise Mary Jane by introducing his parents to her on their second date! Not too long after, Henry and Mary Jane were united in marriage on April 20, 1974 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan. Together, they expanded their family with three more kids, LeRoy, Katie, and Anne. Mary Jane and Henry opened the door to their home to everyone, generously welcoming to the whole neighborhood. There would always be fresh baked goods and games to play at the LaPlant household. The kids were allowed plenty of freedom to roam about town growing up as Mary Jane had eyes everywhere – she always knew what they were getting up to! Mary Jane was a second mom to many people in the Jordan community and eventually became a proud Granny. When asked what her favorite accomplishment in life was, she proudly said, “being grandma.” She established herself as the “kissing Aunt” in her family, not hesitating to plant a wet smooch on all of her nieces and nephews. If they wiped it off, she’d follow up with, “You’re just rubbing it further into your heart.” Auntie Jane was the best godmother you could ask for and cared deeply for her godchildren, Patti Huss, and Becky and Tim Eischens.

Mary Jane was a rock in the Jordan Community. She participated in community theatre (known for her Cowardly Lion cry), helped cater for Geno’s, was president of the VFW Auxiliary for some time, was involved with the Jordaness Lions and MN Citizens concerned for life, helped lead Memorial Day services at local cemeteries, and loved everything and everyone in Jordan!

Mary Jane also enjoyed her motorcycle rides with Henry, loved storms, was an avid card-player, and was a huge fan of everything her children were involved in, be it sports, concerts, theatre, and music.

A true matriarch, “Mother Superior” of her family, and always generous, welcoming, and loud, Mary Jane LaPlant is loved and will be greatly missed by her children, Kyle (Genary) LaPlant, LeRoy (Emily) LaPlant, Katie LaPlant, and Anne (Dan) Read; grandchildren, Madison Jane LaPlant, Jake LaPlant, Levi LaPlant, Ezra LaPlant, Judah LaPlant, Oliver Read and Evelyn Read; great-granddaughter, Caroline; siblings, Tom Eischens, Bob Eischens, Mike (Cheryl) Eischens, Pete Eischens, Carol Schaper, Jim (Sharon) Eischens, Beth (Jay) Sybilrud, and Joe Eischens (Patty Sullivan); Sister-in-law, Colleen Eischens; and many other loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by Henry John LaPlant; parents, Neil & Irene Eischens; brothers, Ken and LeRoy Eischens; sister-in-law, Darlene Eischens; and best friend, Jeanne Hartman.

The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the Name of the Lord. Let us give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ for our sister, Mary Jane.

Leonard Charles Neubauer, age 100, passed away on April 27, 2023 at Central Healthcare in LeCenter. He was formerly of New Prague. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Tuesday May 2, 2023 with visitation beginning at 9am. Everything will be held at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, 313 2nd St. E. Jordan MN. Leonard will be laid to rest at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery of rural Jordan.

Leonard was born on June 20, 1922 to William and Anna (Bruzek) Neubauer in New Prague, MN. He attended Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School in New Prague and went on to graduate from New Prague High School. From a young age working hard was a part of his life. He had a paper route and cut grass for people. He also was an Altar Boy and served Mass for most daily Masses. For entertainment his friends and he would go to the movie theater in New Prague on Saturday afternoons. During the summer they would go fishing and, in the winter, they would go sledding. After High School he started working at International Multi Foods (the mill) in New Prague.

Leonard was proud to have served his Country during WWII. He was drafted to the US Army on March 3, 1943 and served in combat until the war was over. He survived D-Day in Normandy, France and traveled many miles around France and Germany fighting for his life and the freedom of America. He earned three battle Stars while in Combat. They were for the Battle of the Bulge, the Battle of the Rhine and the Battle of Trier University.

When the war was over, he went back home to New Prague. He had met his future wife, Margaret VonBank before the war and they kept up exchanging letters during the war. They were married on May 18, 1946 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Jordan. A few years after they were married, they moved to Minneapolis, and he got a job at the Federal Reserve Bank. They had one daughter, Bridget. The family went on many car trips. Once there were grandchildren, he would take many of them to different places also. He enjoyed spending time with his 10 grandchildren and was proud to know all 23 of his great grandchildren. He loved to tell stories. He also liked helping his in-laws on their farm and also helping on his daughter’s family farm.

Leonard is survived by his daughter Bridget (Ray) Pieper of New Prague; grandchildren, Tim (Crystal) Pieper of New Prague, Maizie (Tony) Scheffler of Zumbrota, Chrissy (Mark) Duhme of Montgomery, Beth (Jamie) Tews of Winona, Brian (Emily) Pieper of New Prague, Nick (Megan) Pieper of New Prague, Dan Pieper of Lonsdale, Tracy (David) Cemensky of LeCenter, Maria (Max) Prange) of New Prague and Emily (Chad) Olson of Lonsdale, 23 great-grandchildren, and other loving relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Margaret; and parents, William and Anna Neubauer.

Maria Thill, age 90, of Jordan, MN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Oak Terrace Senior Living.

Maria’s life was a beautiful testimony to her Catholic faith and her devotion to family, friends, and volunteering. She was born in Rowe, New Mexico and grew up in both Rowe and Denver. Maria entered the Army after high school and served at SHAPE headquarters in Paris, first as an assistant for Samuel Goldwyn, Jr. and then as a cryptologist. Maria met her husband Les through the military, and they fell in love while stationed in Paris. They were married in Rowe and lived in Minneapolis, then Hopkins and finally on their farm outside of Jordan. They were married for 64 years.

Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Kyle Thill, daughter, Kathleen Maria Thill, her parents, Roman and Ruby Garcia, sister and brother-in-law, Celeste and Henry Garduño and brother, Preciliano Joseph Martín.

Surviving Maria are her children: Kyle (Kathy) of Jordan, Teresa of Jordan, Loretta (Greg) Dittrich of Woodbury, Joe (Tanya Velishek) of Jordan, and Margaret (David) Nelson of Stewartville: grandchildren; Matthew Thill, Andrew Thill, Justin (Mandy) Harrison, Trinity Liebenow, Sarah (Joe) Jannette, Nicholas (Margaret) LaFleur, Mariana (Wade) Swoboda, Joshua (Allison) Thill, Mallory Thill, and Katie Nelson: step-grandchildren; Andrew Dittrich, Emilio Velishek and Ariana Velishek: great-grandchildren; Joseph Jannette, Grace Jannette, Brody Harrison, Teagan Harrison, Jackson Thill, Phoenix Liebenow, Aspen Brucker, Everly Leslie Thill, soon-to-be born baby girl Swoboda: step-great-granddaughters; Kaitlin Bauer-Jannette, Anna Bauer-Jannette, step-great-grandson: Elijah Hagen: sister and brother-in-law Amelia and Tony Lucero: brother, Ronald Martín; sister-in-law, Donna Martín: brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Glen and Barb Thill; sister-in-law, Bonnie Thill. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church (215 Broadway St. N., Jordan, MN). And one hour prior to Mass at church.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Jordan, MN.

Daniel Thomas Elke, age 58, of Jordan, MN, passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Methodist Hospital, in St Louis Park, MN.

A time of gathering will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, from 4-7 PM, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 104 West First Street, Jordan, and on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, from 10-10:45 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial, at 11 AM, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 313 Second Street East, Jordan. Vernon and Rosemary (Sheehan) Elke loved being surrounded by a big family. On December 1, 1964, in Shakopee, MN, they welcomed Daniel, who was the sixth of fourteen children. The community of Jordan became his lifelong place of residency. Dan was interested in all things in Jordan. He knew the places to hang out as a child; fishing in the Mill Pond, exploring the creek, waterfalls, and learning the history of the community. Dan attended the Jordan school system and was proud to represent the Jordan Hubmen in wrestling and football. Nicknamed “Potso’, he was a graduate of the Class of 83’.

After graduating, Dan attended Hennepin Tech in Eden Prairie, MN. He spent most of his career working in the printer industry. Dan was a talented graphic designer. He later switched gears and traveled the United States setting up printer systems and handling the maintenance for companies.

Dan was a gifted music artist and songwriter. In the early 1990’s, he was the lead singer for Wild Child and Groove Spoons. Dan loved being on stage entertaining people and watching them sing and dance the night away. He relished playing in night clubs in Minneapolis, MN and participating in battle of the bands.

Dan continued his roots in Jordan, where he eventually married and raised his family. The love story between Dan and Shannon Ida Kiecker started back in her early school years. Their paths kept crossing and eventually they started dating. Dan and Shannon were married on August 22, 1998, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Jordan. From this union, they were blessed with three children, Ariel Ruth, Daniel Thomas Jr., and Nathaniel Vernon.

As the children grew, Dan showed them what a great community Jordan was to live in. He enjoyed coaching the kids in sports, exploring the creek with them, and attending the local events. Dan’s love for animals as a child continued throughout life too. The Elke home was always filled with the companionship of many dogs and cats, most of them rescued animals.

Besides being a great graphic designer, Dan also had a creative edge. He loved carving by hand, walking canes and painting rocks. Dan also was mechanically creative and tried his best to fix things, even if it meant being held together with duct tape and an occasional Mountain Dew bottle. He loved tinkering on motorcycles and riding them. Dan was too a car nut and tried his best at competing in the demolition derbies at the Scott County Fair. In his spare time, Dan enjoyed treasure hunting at antique shops. He continued supporting his Jordan community by being involved in the Historical Society and even ran for Mayor one year.

Dan’s joking around, making people laugh and love of having a great time will be missed. The stories of his welcoming and caring heart, his story telling, and luck of pull tabs and scratch offs will live on in those Dan loved the most. Forever loved by his children, Ariel Elke, Danny Elke, Nate Elke; extended son, Dallas Winter; siblings, Vern (Nancy) Elke, Terry (Cathy) Elke, Linda (Mark) Fahrenkamp, Tony Elke, Mike (Lori) Elke, Ann (Dave) Dettmann, Vince (Tracy) Elke, Rose (John) Johnson, Polly (Jeff) Sohler, Tom (Anit) Elke, John (Leigh) Elke, Mary Beise; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was his loving wife, Shannon, parents, Vernon and Rosemary, and infant brother.

Myron H. Pauly, of Jordan, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the age of 81.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (104 First Street West) in Jordan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 11:00 AM with a gathering from 9:30-10:45 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 313 East Second Street, Jordan. Myron will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Jordan Vets Honor Guard. A reception will follow at Ridges at Sand Creek, 21775 Ridges Drive, Jordan. Myron Henry Pauly was born October 10, 1941, on his family farm in St. Joe’s, in rural Jordan. He was the seventh of nine children born to Lorenz & Margaret (Wick) Pauly. Myron’s mother died when he was very young. Throughout his childhood, Myron learned to cook, clean and the importance of hard work on the farm. The whole family pitched in to help support each other. Myron often said, “We had everything but money.” He certainly grew up in a home full of love. Myron and his siblings were always so close.

Myron attended St. Joe’s Grade School and graduated from Jordan High School in 1959. Following school, Myron enlisted in the Army and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge. Following his military service, Myron came home to run the family farm.

It was during this time that Myron met the love of his life, Deborah Marie Hron. Deb was immediately impressed with Myron’s dancing skills when they met at a Jolly Brothers Dance. Their love blossomed, and they exchanged wedding vows on August 9, 1969, at St Bernard Catholic Church, in Cologne, MN.

Deb and Myron settled in Jordan and were blessed with four wonderful children, Kristin, Kara, Jacob and Joshua. Myron was an amazing father. He never missed a school event and always put his family first. Myron loved to travel and passed this onto his children. He took them on many camping trips and planned adventurous family vacations. One of the most memorable was when the entire family spent six weeks driving to Alaska.

Myron worked very hard to provide a good life for his family. After many years of farming, he found his love of carpentry and worked construction for 14 years. Next, Myron spent 23 years at Pillsbury before starting his own business Myron’s Miracles where he worked with local non-profits.

When Myron wasn’t working, he volunteered his time in his beloved community. He was involved in the Jordan Lions, Commercial Club, Knights of Columbus, Catholic United and the Jordan Vets Honor Guard where he served as the leader for the past decade. He also helped at the Schule Haus and did Disaster Relief work in the 5-state area. Myron had a servant’s heart and was always quick to share his time and talents with those in need.

In his free time, Myron loved gardening, feeding the birds and being outdoors. Myron enjoyed cooking and was known for his raspberries, pickles, soups, and pancakes. Myron was a skilled woodworker; he made a cradle, rocking horse and swing for each of his kids to have in their homes. Myron was also a big card player. He enjoyed cribbage, euchre, and sheepshead. He and Deb were members of the same Card Club for over 50 years. In recent years, Myron took up golf; he especially enjoyed his weekly tee times with his brothers. Although Myron had many hobbies and interests, the most important things in his life were his faith, family, and friends. Myron absolutely loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandkids. He was a wonderful grandpa and had a special relationship with each of his grandkids.

Myron was a hard-working, reliable, dedicated, and honest man. He was always kind, loving and generous. Myron truly was an honorable man. He now lives on in the hearts of everyone who loved him.

Myron is survived by his loving wife of 53 ½ years, Deborah; children, Kristin (Allen) Thomas, Kara (Tony King) Breeggemann, Jacob (Andrea) Pauly, Joshua (Tricia) Pauly; grandchildren, Makayla Thomas, Dylan Thomas, Connor McArdle, Tristan Breeggemann, Keegan Breeggemann, Cullen Breeggemann, Kamryn King, Ayden King, August Pauly, Ole Pauly, Anders Pauly; sister, Arlene (Rueben) Geislinger; brother, Julian (Karen) Pauly; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Pauly; many relatives and friends.

Myron is preceded in death by parents, Lorenz and Margaret; brothers, Roland, Alan and Alcuin; sisters, Geraldine, Sally and Marietta.

John Lee Thomas Immenschuh, 75, of Jordan, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2022, surrounded by family as they all prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet at John’s request. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26, from 4-7 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, 104 1st St W, Jordan. John’s Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, October 27, at 11 AM at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, 313 2nd St. E, Jordan, with Father Matthew Quail presiding. Visitation one hour prior at church. Interment Calvary Cemetery.

John was born into a God-Fearing family in the year of 1947 and his family all agreed he was the cutest baby you had ever seen. He and his two sisters were later adopted by Thomas Eugene Immenschuh when he married John’s mother, Gladys. John welcomed his little sister Annette and brother Thomas with open arms. John loved all of his siblings deeply and also spent a great deal of time with his many cousins growing up; this became a foundational aspect of John’s life that became the cornerstone of his values. John always loved living close to his mother and helped care for his siblings – not out of requirement, but out of sheer love. John served in the Navy, completing two tours in Vietnam; he later went on to serve in the Air Force National Guard, eventually retiring from service.

John was born in Topeka, Kansas and lived in Wichita, Kansas for a large majority of his life. He worked for Raytheon Aircraft Company for 35 years – which is where he met the love of his life, Catherine. John, following the loving example set by his own father, adopted his three oldest children after John and Catherine were married in 1989. Not long after, their family grew and grew – by five more children. John was a loving, caring, and devoted father. He found great joy in his children and grandchildren. As devoted as John was to his children, he was equally devoted to his wife, Catherine – to whom he was married 33 joyous years. John and Cate moved to Minnesota in 2007, living in New Prague, Prior Lake, and finally Jordan.

God was always a top priority in John’s life and in his marriage; he prioritized his faith in all that he did, making sure to share God’s message of love and forgiveness with all who were near him. John especially practiced perpetual devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. He was every bit the spiritual leader to his family, always offering guidance and direction to those around him, and he was deeply loved for this.

John is deeply missed by his wife, Catherine Immenschuh; children, Michael Immenschuh, Chelsea (Ty) Pham, Sarah Immenscuh, John (Ashley) Immenschuh, Mary Immenschuh, Joe Immenschuh, Bernadette (Matthew) Crosby, Emily Immenschuh; grandchildren, Isabelle, Dizzyahrakeah, Tayden, Tahlee, Roxy, Allen, Heaven, Alliyah, Julissa, Neveah, Jazzlynn, Cayden, Mason, Brierra, Ryker, Charlie, Kamari, Henry, Jeremiah, Justice; sisters Eva Marie Immenschuh and Annette (Jeff) Kasselman; brother Thomas (Charlotte) Immenschuh, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

John is preceded in death by his parents, sister Deanna Immenschuh and other loved relatives and friends.

Kevin David Adamek, age 68, of Jordan, MN, passed away on October 3, 2022.

A time of gathering will be held on Thursday, October 6, from 4-7 pm, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 104 West First Street, Jordan. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, October 7, at 11 am, with an additional time of gathering from 9:30-10:45 am, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 313 Second Street East, Jordan. Father Jim Perkl will preside. Kevin will be laid to rest at St. John Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are preferred.

Kevin graced this world on December 8, 1953, in New Prague, MN. From the beginning, he lived a full and adventurous life. Alongside his parents, Edward Michael and Hattie Elizabeth (Rezac), Kevin was the youngest of five children growing up on the family farm in Webster, MN.

After graduating from New Prague High School in 1972, Kevin spent most of his career serving his community of Jordan. For 20 plus years, Kevin owned and operated the local Napa Auto Parts stores. He went on to become a sales representative, with his greatest accomplishment of becoming a realtor-owning Icon Reality. Beyond Kevin’s careers, he also committed 29 years with the Jordan Fire Department and many years with the Jordan Commercial Club and was an active member of St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church. It didn’t matter the position, Kevin put his whole heart and soul serving his customers and community.

Kevin had many adventures outdoors. He spent countless hours hunting, fishing, golfing, and riding his motorcycle. The fun outdoors continued by taking summer vacations with his family to Detroit Lakes, camping at Fish Lake, boating. and tending to his vegetable garden, with processing the fruits of his labor. Indoors, Kevin’s adventures continued crushing you in cards, cribbage, or dice. He enjoyed taking his chance at pull tabs, cocktails with friends, watching NASCAR and had a special love/hate relationship with the Minnesota sports teams.

Many adventures were experienced by Kevin through his passion in music and as an accomplished drummer. As a teenager, Kevin picked up a set of drumsticks and self-taught the craft of the drums. His talents were shared within the bands of Moonshine, Tuxedo and Dakota Ramblers. Kevin knew how to kick up a party! He loved to entertain.

The greatest adventures for Kevin were becoming a loving and devoted husband, dad, and grandpa. He married Marlene Link on August 17, 1974, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Jordan. From this union, they were blessed with five children, Chad, Stacie, Cory, Tyler, and Tanner. Kevin and Marlene’s ultimate achievement was becoming grandparents. These grandkids brought them so much joy, especially at Christmas.

Kevin’s legacy will now live on in those he loved the most son, Chad (Mandy) Adamek and their children, Logan, Emma and Mason; daughter, Stacie (Chris) Theis and their children, Harper and Harrison; son, Cory (Ashley) Adamek and their children Leah, Hattie, and Louie; son, Tyler (Samantha) Adamek and their children, Reid, Wells, and Laikynn; son, Tanner (Stephanie) Adamek and their children, Carter, Treyvn and Lincoln: siblings, Joyce (Fritz) Novak, Jerry (Lavonne) Adamek, sister-in-law, Kate Adamek; other relatives and friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene; granddaughter, Abigail Mae Adamek; parents: infant sister, Grace Adamek; and brother, Ronald Adamek.

Roselyn Koenig left this world on September 6, 2022, at Oak Terrace Senior Living, in Jordan, MN. She was just shy of her 96th birthday and a longtime resident of Jordan.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 9, at 11 am, with a visitation from 9:30-10:45 am, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 313 Second Street East, Jordan, MN. Guests may also join via livestreaming at sjbjordan.org. Father Matthew Quail will preside. Roselyn’s granddaughters will act as pallbearers. She will be laid to rest at St. John Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are preferred and will be distributed in Roselyn’s honor, by the family.

Born September 23, 1926, in Jordan, MN, Roselyn Helen was the daughter of Henry and Hildegard (Wermerskirchen) Schoenecker. She attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and graduated from New Prague High School.

Roselyn received a Registered Nurse (RN) degree at St. Marys School of Nursing, in Rochester, MN. She practiced and shared her talent as an RN at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague, MN, most of her career until retiring in 1982. Roselyn was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Alumni Association and of the American Red Cross. She was also in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corp.

While in high school, Roselyn met the love of her life, Albert Joseph Koenig. After she completed her RN education, they married on June 8, 1948, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. From this union, they settled on a farm in Jordan to raise nine children, David, Kay, Dan, Karen, Barbara, Brian, Terese, Lisa, and Tom. As a family, many summer trips were made to their cabin on Blackhoof Lake. Another adventure was when Roselyn and Albert bought a home in Florida and began heading south for the winter. The whole family would hop in the car and make the trip down. Around Easter they’d pack up and head back home to the farm. They did this for more than ten years until their family was too big to fit into one car.

In 1990, after Albert retired from farming, Roselyn and he retired on the lake in Shieldsville, MN. In her spare time, Roselyn enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting and especially history and genealogy. The most important passion in her life was family. She and Albert attended countless ball games, dance recitals, concerts, and graduations. Roselyn was most proud of becoming a grandmother and great grandmother.

Roselyn will forever be loved and missed by her children, Kay (Tom) Cloutier, Dan (Carol) Koenig, Karen (Mark) Anderson, Barbara Boucher, Brian (Lorri) Koenig, Terese (Tom) Mitchell, Lisa (Scott Korzenowski) Sweeney, Tom (Shari) Koenig; 22 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; sisters, Sr. Catherine Schoenecker, Ann Gibney, Mary Trudell; other relatives and friends.

Roselyn was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; son, David; great-grandsons, Karson and Max; parents, Henry and Hildegard Schoenecker; brother and sister-in-law, Clayton (Helen) Schoenecker; brothers-in-law, Pat Gibney and Dick Trudell.

Hedwig “Hedy” (Mares) Joachim, 99, of Jordan passed away peacefully on August 20, 2022. A Time of Gathering will be held on Monday, August 29 at Ballard-Sunder Funeral home in Joran (104 1st St. W) from 4-6pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 30 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan (215 Broadway St.) starting at 11am. Father Matthew Quail will be presiding over the Mass. Prior to Mass, a one-hour visitation will take place from 10-11am.

Burial will take place following the Mass at St. John Calvary Cemetery.

Born of Czech heritage in rural New Prague, MN to John Mares and Mary Bartusek, Hedwig (Hedy) Joachim was the second youngest of seven children, all of whom preceded her in death. Those siblings are Eugene Maresh, Philomene Kopesky Boyd, Florence Wermerskirchen, Theophil (Toby) Mares, Helen Heckenliable and Anselma (Ann) Langer Schwingler.

Also preceding her in death was her husband, Raymond, and son, John.

After attending a one room schoolhouse and St. Wenceslaus Catholic School in New Prague, Hedy completed her education at Jordan High School. Upon completion of beauty school in St. Paul she opened Hedy’s Beauty Shop in Jordan in 1943 and sold the enterprise seven years later.

Raymond Joachim and Hedy were married in 1947 and Hedy eventually joined her husband in several of his business ventures including, but not limited to, Jordan Insurance Agency, Jordan Tax Service, Farm and City Associates and Jordan Real Estate.

She had a love of life and was dedicated to improving our world and the lives of everyone she knew. During Hedy’s lifetime her community service included active membership in countless church and civic organizations and groups including Jordaness Lions, DFL, VFW Auxiliary, Cub Scouts, American Red Cross, Christian Mothers Society, Scott County Fair and numerous others.

She was preceded in death by son, John, and her husband of more than 50 years, Raymond. Thereafter Hedy lived independently on her own even though impacted, but not handicapped, with nearly 100% vision loss.

Hedy was especially proud and forever grateful of her Jordan community, its schools, churches, local government and civic organizations, as well as for the support afforded the family business ventures. Above all she was especially thankful of her many treasured dear friends who shared with her a most beautiful life. The longtime Jordan resident is survived by children Ray (Faye Sparks), Mary (Dale Oldenburg) and Paul as well as by grandchildren Graham Joachim, Allison (Chris Perske), Anthony (Andrea Oldenburg), Adam (Kristi Schultz), Thomas and Mallory (Corbin Derrick). Hedy was great grandmother to Elizabeth and Gabrielle Perske, Jack and Charlee, and Cole Joachim.

Ardwin “Ardie” Hamer, 73 of Jordan passed away unexpectedly on August 14, 2022 at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.

Born in Shakopee on July 15, 1949, Ardie was a son of Robert and Helen (Weckman) Hamer. He was raised in Jordan, attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School and graduated from Jordan High School in 1967. While in high school, he was a good student fascinated with history and a multi sport athlete that excelled in football and baseball. He went on to Hennepin Technical College and became a skilled machinist. On September 21, 1985 he married Theresa Leach at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waconia. They settled in Jordan and raised three beautiful and talented daughters, Emily, Nora and Clare. An inventive and hardworking man, Ardie spent over 35 years employed with Cherne Industries until he retired in 2016.

Ardie loved the outdoors and spent countless hours hunting, fishing and traveling with friends and family. Often traveling by car, Ardie took Theresa and the girls to places near and far. Some of the most memorable were weekend trips up north for snowmobiling, and camping or fishing at Lake of the Woods. They regularly traveled west to Wyoming for hunting and kayaking and south to Branson for sightseeing at fish hatcheries, dams, zoos and more fishing. When not on the road, he enjoyed spending his time outdoors, whether it was just feeding the birds or working on the latest project in the backyard. He showed his love for the girls by teaching them how to work through a problem to find an answer or create something out of little or nothing. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Ardie quickly learned that he was an intelligent, strong, witty and well-rounded man that spoke through his actions and not just his words.

Ardie is survived by wife, Theresa; daughters, Emily, Nora and Clare; siblings, Roberta “Bertsie” Stevens, Rick and Fred; Brother-in-Law Bob Everett; Sister-in-Law Pam Leach; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen; sister, Adrienne “Adie” Everett and brother, Kevin Hamer.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday,  August 22nd  at 11am with a visitation 1 ½ hours prior at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Jordan. Burial at Calvary Cemetery will immediately follow the Mass, and a Luncheon will be provided in the church basement.

Visitation will also be held Sunday, August 21st  from 4-7pm at the Wagner Funeral Home, Jordan.

Rosemary Frances (Sheehan) Elke was born on October 2, 1935 in Harmony, Minnesota. Her early years were spent traveling with her family in and around Kansas until she was about seven when they settled in the Chaska area. Rosemary attended Guardian Angels Catholic School, graduating from 8th grade there. She began grade 9 in Shakopee, but she became ill and stopped attending school.

Rosemary started working at St. Francis Hospital as a Candy Striper to pay the bills from when she had pneumonia. After leaving the hospital, she got a job at the St. Paul house, bussing and setting tables. Soon, she met someone who, in her words, “rescued me.” It was Vernon Elke. They dated a short while and were married in June of 1955 at St. Michael’s Church in Prior Lake.

Rosemary and Vernon rented a few apartments before buying a small home on Wood Street in Jordan. They lived in that tiny house while building their permanent home on the same lot. In this home they raised Vernon, Terry, Linda, Tony, Mike, Dan, Ann, Vince, Rose, Pauline, Tomas, John, and Mary. Rosemary also lost one baby, a boy, in 1966. Rosemary was a great cook, known for her wonderful bread. She sewed clothes and toys for her children, and she kept a large garden to supply fresh vegetables to the family. She usually sang as she worked, sharing her love of music with her children. She had a strong faith and made sure her children sang a bedtime prayer each night, listing all her children in the song’s blessing.

In the 1990s Rosemary started working in the kitchen at school. She and Vernon also had a newspaper route for a while, and Rosemary worked at the Minnesota Harvest Apple Barn for a time. She babysat for some families and volunteered at her church often. She worked at the Schule Haus and at some people’s homes helping them clean and do other small chores. She also helped clean at the Hamburger Home. She always had a smile and an encouraging word for everyone. She was the face of Christ to all those around her.

Rosemary died peacefully in her home on July 26, 2022, after 86 years, 9 months, and 24 days on this earth. She is preceded in death by her husband Vernon, her infant boy, her parents Muriel and Delmer Sheehan, her siblings Jackie, Jim, Dale, Bonnie, and Roy, her daughter-in-law Shannon Elke, her grandchild Zelda, her great grandchild Aria, and many other loved ones. May perpetual light shine upon her, and may she rest in peace.

Rosemary is survived by her children: Vern (Nancy) Elke, Terry (Cathy) Elke, Linda (Mark) Fahrenkamp, Tony Elke, Mike (Lori) Elke, Dan Elke, Ann (David) Dettmann, Vince (Tracy) Elke, Rose (Johnny) Johnson, Pauline (Jeff) Sohler, Tomas (Anit) Elke, John (Leigh) Elke, and Mary Biese, as well as 33 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Jean Rassmussen, Virginia Elke, Dennis (Nancy) Sheehan, Nick (Maggie) Sheehan, Pat (Carrie Luthe) Sheehan, Jay (Donna) Sheehan, Sean (Ann) Sheehan, and Kelly (Helen) Sheehan.

Reed Joseph Poitra Jr., 39, of Jordan, MN, went home to be with the Lord on July 7, 2022.

A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13, from 4-7 pm at Ballard Sunder Funeral Home in Jordan MN (104 1st St west). Reed’s Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 14 at St. John the Baptist in Jordan (313 2nd St east) starting at 11am with a visitation prior from 10-10:45am. Following the Mass, interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Jordan.

On May 31, 1983, Reed was born to parents Reed Sr. and Tammie Poitra in Belcourt, ND. When Reed was brought home from the hospital, he was welcomed home by his older sister Seana. The Poitra Family moved to Jordan MN in 1997. Reed Graduated high school in Jordan MN, and attended Normandale College in 2002. But no matter where the family was living, Reed was always outside enjoying the great outdoors. In the Spring and Summertime, Reed could be found casting his line into one of his growing list of fishing spots. During the Fall and winter months, he spent his time sitting in hunting blinds, making turkey calls, posting up in a tree stand, or looking through a frozen hole in the lake just waiting for a fish to bite.

Reed was blessed to have three wonderful children; Kendra, Easton and Logan with his fiancé Holly. Reed’s entire world revolved around his children. He was protective of them and wanted them to have the best the world could offer. One of his greatest joys in life was getting the chance to teach Kendra how to use a bow and bringing her on hunting trips. Not only did it give him the chance to pass on his passions, but it also helped teach her about her family’s Native American heritage. Reed’s family is descended from the Turtle Mountain band of Chippewa Indians. He also shares Irish, French and German heritage passed down from his father. Reed was fiercely proud of heritage.

When he was done with school, his Uncle John offered him a job working as a flooring specialist. He spent many hours bonding and learning from his uncle in their shared trade. After a few years of working there, Reed opened his own business known locally as RP Flooring in Jordan.

Reed’s hobbies extended much greater than just the outdoors. Some of his many hobbies included working on project cars, smoking or grilling delicious meals for his family and friends and cheering on his Minnesota Vikings. On most Sundays you could find Reed in his garage, Vikings game on the TV, surrounded by friends and family with something on the grill and working on his beloved project truck.

A gentle soul, protective and free spirited Reed will be greatly missed by his loving children, Kendra Poitra, Easton Poitra and Logan Devore (step-son); Fiancé Holly Egstad; Parents, Reed and Tammie Poitra; Sister, Seana Poitra; Grandfather, Eugene Poitra; Niece, Kyra Ekstrand; Nephews, Michael Sipes and David Sipes (God Son); and many Uncles, Aunts and Cousins. Reed was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Shirley Poitra, Leo and Betty Poitra; and Uncle Randy Poitra.

James “Jim” Luskey, 90, of Jordan, passed away on Sunday, July 3.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, July 12 at St. John the Baptist in Jordan, starting at 11am. Prior to the Mass, a Time of Gathering will be held from 9:30-11. Following the Mass, internment will take place at St. John Calvary Cemetery with a luncheon at St. John’s following the burial.

A man of his work, strong willed, and a great role model, Jim will be greatly missed by his Children, David (Sue) Luskey, Gary Luskey, Jeff (Bonnie) Luskey, Sherry (Bob) Winters, Trish Bye, Kathy (Brian) Thompson, and Brian (Mary) Feltmann; 14 grandchildren, Matt & Andy, Tom & Katie, Robyn &Ally, Krista, Gregg & Brandon, Emily, Tucker, Abby, Sarah & Patrick; 9 Great Grandchildren, Evan, Zach, Jameson, Kenna, Norah, Nate, Austyn, Kaitlyn, Levi, Jaden; Siblings, Geri Smith, Fenton Luskey, and Leo (Madelyn) Luskey; Sister in law, Jean Luskey; and Dog, Chico.

Douglas G. Noyes, age 77 of Jordan, MN, formerly Eau Claire, WI, passed away suddenly but peacefully on June 20th, 2022.

A visitation will start at 10 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 313 East Second Street, Jordan. Father Neil Bakker will preside. Following the Mass there will be a Celebration of Life at Ridges at Sand Creek Golf Course at noon. In lieu of flowers, consider buying a bottle of Windsor and holding a glass high, preferably with a Windsor Old Fashioned (with olives!), in honor of Doug, and let a memory bring a smile to your face!

Doug was born in Black River Falls, WI, before moving to California at age 3 and returning to Humbird, WI before his Jr. year of high school. He met Lorene Smith and they dated prior to him being deployed to Vietnam where he served on a Mine Sweeper, the USS Fortify, in the U.S. Navy. Upon his return, Doug & Lorene married on June 11, 1967. Doug worked for Ed Phillips & Sons for 41 years. He loved his job and met some amazing friends. He was proud of his many accomplishments and trips he won throughout the years, but most importantly, the relationships he developed along the way. Doug was very active in his children’s lives, not missing an activity or event. When they were young, he was at every game, concert, and volunteered to work school events, usually arriving before maintenance opened the door. As a result, he also became very close to many of his children’s friends and enjoyed catching up on their lives journey’s as well. He enjoyed spending time and helping his children up until his final hour and you would always hear him beam with pride when talking about them, the things they were doing, and the time they spent together (which was often).

The ultimate joy of his life was his three grandchildren. He exploded with pride and love when they were around and was so proud of them and everything they did. Like with his children, he continued to attend every sport and activity they were involved in and eventually moved to Jordan, MN to be closer to them and ensure he did not miss a thing. He had an amazing bond with all three and they looked forward to him being at their events, serving lunch at school, or just dropping by for a quick chat (usually about sports or what was going on in their life) and a treat (usually ice cream or donuts). He was also an amazing “cookie tester” when Lorene and Kyra would bake. He enjoyed being able to share his love of Wisconsin sports by taking all three grandkids to Lambeau Field for Packer games with his season tickets that he waited 30+ years for, just to have that exact experience. All three will have their biggest fan and supporter watching over them!

Doug valued his friendships creating a close circle of friends in both Eau Claire and Jordan that he enjoyed spending frequent time with and endless laughs! Whether it was a Friday Night Fish Fry, steak dinner at home, or an adventure/trip; he liked spending time with friends! The last 10 years his favorite place was Webb Lake, WI where he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and meeting another circle of amazing friends that he couldn’t wait to see when he got up there. Doug loved his extended family and family events, never seeing them nearly as much as he would have liked, but when he was with them, he enjoyed every minute, always giving a “speech” (although not always appropriate) or leading a march, or just joining in the games, stories and laughter. Everyone will always remember his big smile, huge laugh and beaming blue eyes!

Doug will be forever missed, but never forgotten, by his wife of 55 years, Lorene; children, Casandra “Candy” and DJ; Grandsons, Kade and Seth; granddaughter, Kyra; brother, Ed Noyes; sister, Beverly “Roxie” Noyes; and many, many, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Geraldine, and sister, Barb Buonauro.

Earl E. Pint, age 79 of Jordan passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 while surrounded by his loving family. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 9:30-11AM with a Funeral Mass beginning 11AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 313 Broadway Street E., Jordan. Earl will be laid to rest at Calvary Catholic Cemetery with Father Neil Bakker presiding.

On March 28, 1943 at the family farm near St. Benedict, parents Joseph and Alma (Steinhoff) Pint celebrated the birth of their son Earl Erwin Pint. He was the second of their eight children. Earl attended country school at St. Benedict and later graduated from New Prague High School.

Following his graduation, Earl entered the workforce. He was employed with Minnesota Valley Breeders and Harvestore Silos before enlisting with the United States Navy. Upon his honorable discharge, Earl began a 40-year long career with Continental Machines.

On July 22, 1967 Earl was united in marriage with Judith Colling at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. They were blessed with a loving family and 55 years together.

Throughout his life, Earl focused on his faith and family. He shared many of his interests with those he loved—fishing, hunting, playing cards, gardening, and especially baseball. In his youth, Earl enjoyed playing baseball with his brothers and with the St. Benedict Saints. In later years, he volunteered at state baseball tournaments. He was also a member of the American Legion post 45.

A generous and caring man, Earl never shied away from helping others. He volunteered at St. John’s Fall Festival and helped at church whenever an opportunity arose. Earl will be remembered fondly for his kindness, wit, and his endless supply of “dad jokes” especially the ones without a punchline.

Earl is loved and missed by his wife, Judy; children, DeAnn (Jeff) Gerdes, Steven Pint, Michael (Julie) Vigness-Pint, Christopher (Casey) Pint; grandchildren, Sophie and Emma Gerdes, Sydney and Greta Vigness-Pint, Jordan Coughlin and Jenna (Michael) Barrett; great-grandchildren, Sylvia, Jude and Maite Barrett; siblings, David (Joan) Pint, Lois (Jim) Giesen, Marlin (Ruth) Pint, Lori Moylan, Adele Pint; sister-in-law, Marilyn Pint; brother-in-law, Ken Palma; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Earl is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Alma Pint; brother; Jeron Pint; sister, Jayne Palma; nephew, Chuckie Giesen.
